the stone sat still and cold
and cast his shadow in the evening light
which flickered as the moon began to rise
across the sea, on the horizan, the sun sat down
then covered his head with the earth, and went to sleep
awake, the moon dipped in the sea for a midnight bath
she swayed her head to and fro on the calm waves
and gently spread the tide above the coastline
the stone closed his eyes, and held his breath
the moon stood tall above him, parting drapes of cloud
naked and glowing, her light consumed the darkness
eyes wide open, breathing fast and hard, the stone began to scream
and then he drowned. and so did the moon.
